A Day in Avonlea
After a brief tour of Charlottetown, the capital of Prince Edward Island, we’ll journey along winding country roads to arrive at “Anne’s Land”, the Village of Anne of Green Gables, where you’ll spend most of the day in this storybook village based on Lucy Maude Montgomery’s novel, “Anne of Green Gables”.
The year is 1908 in Avonlea! Live the story as you travel back in time 100 years and interact with the characters as the story unfolds around you. Enjoy a full day of activities and entertainment including performances by PEI's most talented musicians.
This is PEI’s best attraction, and a chance for you to get involved in living the life of the rambunctious redhead. There’s plenty of gossip to go around while having lunch at the Avonlea Tea House, or if you’d like, you can venture off the premises for a while in search of other fare, the option is yours.
While in the ‘Village’ you might enjoy:
- School classes with Miss Stacey
- Children’s Creative House
- Artisan Demonstrations (Artisan Studio)
- Wagon and Pony Rides
- Visit the Heritage Buildings (School, Manse and Church)
- Dress up in period costume (bring your camera!)
- ‘L. M. Montgomery’s Photography' & 'Creating Anne' Exhibits
The village is wheelchair accessible, and there is The Picnic Basket Take Out: Victorian Afternoon Tea by reservation, and a picnic area as well.
There are a number of retail outlets within the park such as:
- Anne of Green Gables Store
- Anne of Green Gables Chocolates
- Avonlea General Store
- Avonlea Artisans Studios
At the Avonlea Artisans Studios, you will have the opportunity to see how they create unique, classic products using timeless skills and materials.
Following our visit to all things ‘Anne’, we’ll return to the cruise ship via a different route so that you will have another opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery PEI is famous for!
This Private Pre-BookeD tour is fully narrated by your guide and will take an estimated 6 hours (+/-) to complete.
